31 Wines In 31 Days ...

What a surprise today ... I stopped by the local LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) to pick up a few more bottles for review this week and when I walked through the door I couldn't believe what a saw ... a selection of wines from France for $5.95 a bottle (reg $9.95) ... and you know what my first review would be ....

YELLOW JERSEY SAUVIGNON PET
LCBO 40998 | 750 mL bottle

A Sauvignon Blanc for $5.95? Couldn't believe it ... but it was true ... and it wasn't bad! It didn't have the classic grassy aroma I enjoy from Australian (or a certain Sauv from Chili - TaraPaca-) nor the intense fruity tastes associated with traditional Sauvignon Blancs, but at this price I will buy a case to keep in the cellar ... 7.5/10 ...

Price: $ 5.95, White Wine, 11.9% Alcohol/Vol., Sugar Content : 1

Made in: Languedoc, France By: Rene Clement

Tasting Note - Pale yellow in colour with pale green tinges; aromas of medium intensity suggesting grapefruit, herbs and cut grass; Bone-dry and light, it delivers grassy and citrusy tones, the finish is balanced and lively.

Serving Suggestion - Seafood salad, pan-fried fish, goat cheese
