9 Wines in 9 Days ...

Our second red in as many days and our 4th consecutive Italian review ... what can I say, I was in that isle today!!

CESARI MERLOT DELLE VENEZIE
LCBO 572453 | 750 mL bottle

Well thank goodness for this Merlot! After my week long hesitation to open my first red, yesterday's selection was not one to inspire confidence in the red grape! This wine had a pleasant aroma of berries and was very smooth on the palette. It was also very nicely matched with the Italian Parmesan cheese that we had with it. And I saved a glass to try with my pizza tonight - see Serving Suggestion below - did I mention I LOVE pizza? If this goes well together I just might have to uncork a few more reds in the future! Rating = 7.5/10. I'd buy this one again.

Price: $ 7.45, Red Wine, 12.0% Alcohol/Vol., Sugar Content : 1

Made in: Venezie, Italy, By: Casa Vinicola Gerardo Cesari

Tasting Note - Ruby/cherry colour; dark plum and blueberry aromas; light- to medium-bodied with a core of sweet, red berry flavours and a velvety finish.

Serving Suggestion - Pasta with a mushroom sauce, veal or meat pizzas
