3 Wines in 3 Days ..

OK ... we've only just begun our "odessy" of 365 Wines in 365 Days but I guess that you've figured out my favorite wine is Sauvignon Blanc ... although if you would have asked me two years ago my answer would have been "white"!!!!

Yesterdays wine, TaraPaca from Chile, was rated as a 9/10. I mentioned that we have only found it in 1 restaurant in Ottawa and hopefully that will change! Today we look at a wine that is found in many restaurants in Ottawa ... and at the same cost ... but definitely not the same value!

TWO OCEANS SAUVIGNON BLANC LCBO
340380 750 mL bottle

This wine is found in many restaurants in Ottawa and I think the reason is that people just order the least expensive "non-house" wine on the wine list!! When I first tasted this wine I wasn't impressed. Before I "discovered" wine I would just order the "house white" ... now I order Sauvignon Blanc as I really enjoy it! And yes, I have ordered this wine a few times before I discovered real values.

The tasting notes from the LCBO (below) describe a "pale straw color" ... the "pale" totally describes my perception of this wine ... and that is "anemic"! Although it does have the classic grassy aromas (slight) and a citrus flavor (slight) associated with Sauvignon Blanc, it falls well short when compared side by side with similarly priced products.

My rating is a 6 out of 10 ... could have been lower but did I mention I really enjoy Sauvignon Blanc!!
