The last Sauvignon Blanc that I tried from South Africa (Two Ocean's) didn't really impress me ... let's see what this one does for me!
TRIBAL SAUVIGNON BLANC/COLOMBARD
LCBO 623694 | 750 mL bottle
I described Two Ocean's as "pale straw color" and "anemic". This edition of South African Sauvignon Blanc is very similar although not as pale and a slightly stronger citrus presence. Again, this Sauvignon is not in the same league as similarly priced wines (under $10!!) but has more to offer than Two Ocean's ... therefore a 6.5/10 ... maybe due to the Colombard presence?
Price: $ 8.65 , White Wine, 12.2% Alcohol/Vol.
Made in: South Africa, South Africa, By: S.A.V.I.S.A. Pty Ltd
Tasting Note - Straw yellow colour; light tropical fruit, citrus, grassy/herbal and apple fruit flavours and aromas; dry, light to medium bodied, with soft acidity; moderate length on finish; easy drinking style.
Serving Suggestion - Serve as an aperitif, light fish dishes especially pan seared fish dishes, vegetable lasagne.
