I was asked to pick up a bottle of Pinot Noir to go with the duck for dinner tonight ... I was told it was a great match ... and of course I found a bottle for under 10 dollars! Well, the Pinot Noir matched great with the duck ... only it wasn't this one!
We opened it and did a tasting prior to dinner. The body was very light and there was a telltale smell of alcohol that overpowered the faint cherry aroma. The lightness of the color carried through to the taste ... not a lot of flavour. I'm developing a taste for Pinot Noir's but won't be buying this one again ... it wasn't bad ... just not very good. 6/10 (and for the record, another bottle was quickly opened to go with dinner .. it was awesome but quite a bit over our $10 threshhold so I won't be reviewing it ... suffice to say it was awesome!). The Two Oceans Pinot will be good as a second bottle tonight!
