21 Wines in 21 Days ...

Today we've got another white from Portugal ... just not finding (at least in MY humble opinion!!) that quality wine for under $10 from this particular country.

SOGRAPE GAZELA VINHO VERDE
LCBO 141432 750 mL bottle

A couple days ago I reviewed a wine from Portugal that I bought because of the bottle ... today I found almost that same wine in a "regular" wine bottle. Though it had a much more unique name - Gazela. This wine was also pale in color with little aroma but was again fresh and light ... though with a slightly more "zesty" finish in the mouth. I mentioned that the last one would be bettered paired on the deck in the summer in the hot sun ... I would take this one first because of the more pronounced spritzy finish and lower alcohol content for that summertime sipping ... this is one I would enjoy on that summer afternoon when looking for a refreshing sip ... I'll give this one a 7/10 as I will have this available for my deck this summer ... but only there!

Price: $ 8.95 , Wine, White Wine, 9.0% Alcohol/Vol., Sugar Content : 1

Made in: Vinho Verde, Portugal, By: Sogrape

Tasting Note - Pale yellow straw colour; light fruit aromas with citrus and mineral notes; dry, light bodied, with delicate fresh fruit flavours; tart and refreshing with a spritzy finish.

Serving Suggestion - Serve chilled as an aperitif, with shellfish or fried fish
