23 Wines in 23 Days ...

Today we go with TWO favorites ... my favorite style being Sauvignon Blanc and my new favorite region that is producing many fine wines under $10 ... namely Pelee Island. I only hope that their Sauvignon Blanc bellies up to the "wine bar" in true form!

PELEE ISLAND SAUVIGNON BLANC
LCBO 621193 | 750 mL bottle

Well no surprise here! After seeing great results from other varietals, Pelee Island has another winner on their hands with their Sauvignon Blanc! Added to the traditional grassy smell (though not as pronounced as the Australian/New Zealand varietals - a new word I like) and zesty, citrus flavor ... there is also a unique tart lemon taste (kinda like a lemon meringue pie) that also is very pleasing ... this wine does not disappoint. I would definitely recommend it to friends and give it a 9/10 ... maybe a half point advantage for being homegrown Canadian but that's my perogative! But its also one of my reasons that I will be visiting Pelee Island next summer!
